LGBT+ Conservatives Candidates' Fund Reception 2017

The Conservative Party has a proud record of selecting “out” candidates across all levels of government from local councils to Parliament. In recent years, LGBT+ Conservatives have been able to support LGBT+ candidates through the Candidates' Fund thanks to your generous support, helping to provide the funding our candidates need.

Join us on Thursday 9th March for our annual drinks reception, taking place at a private residence in the heart of the West End and support Conservative candidates fighting marginal seats across the country, and our very own Sean Anstee who is flying to Conservative flag in the Greater Manchester Mayoral election this May.

We are delighted that we will be joined by Sir Alan Duncan MP, Minister of State for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Sir Alan was the first sitting Conservative MP to publicly come out as gay, and in doing so helped change the attitudes of many in our party on LGBT+ issues.

All money raised for the Candidates' Fund is help in a separate account, and used exclusively to provide the financial support our candidates need to spread the Conservative message in their constituencies. Your support for this event and donations will help them hold and win seats and ensure that we have great representatives who are backed, not only by the LGBT community, but also by local activists and, ultimately, voters.

At the 2015 General Election, we supported 19 candidates including Stuart Andrew MP, Ben Howlett MP and Iain Stewart MP who were returned to parliament.

This drinks reception, with a special guest speaker to be announced, will be held at a private residence near Oxford Street with the support of a kind donor. The exact location will be sent to ticket holders 48 hours before the event.
