Drawing on material that spans six decades, artist Prem Sahib brings together contributions from writers and poets that in various ways engage with representations of sex taking place in the socio-political backdrop of cities such as London & New York.
Collectively these readings reflect the diversity of public and private lives and the myriad ways this can exist, serving as a reminder of what is often excluded from the mainstream narratives, such as those expressed by the popular television show. From novel uses of public space, such as cruising, to gentrification, spit-roasts and drinking piss, Sex and the City is a rethinking of the popularised sentiment considered through intersections of race, gender, class and sexuality.
