BOULANGERIE IS BACK!
Welcome to an inclusive and unpredictable evening of queer performance, gathering, and revelry hosted by Wanda Whatever at a secret outdoor location in North London (ooooo, mysterious).
Much like an assortment of sweet treats found at your local bakery, Boulangerie will celebrate the inspired diversity of drag, gender expression, and artistry found in London’s vibrant queer communities. More expression, more occupation, more safe spaces, more art! The priority is giving performers a safe space to try out whatever they like.

WHAT IS BOULANGERIE?
If you've never been, it is an evening for showcasing queer artists of all different concentrations, performance styles, backgrounds, and objectives. The priority is giving the artist a safe space to try out whatever they like. So, you may see some established artists trying out something new and scary for the first time, a newer artist polishing something that they may have already presented somewhere else, an established artist reviving an older iconic performance, etc. And that is why Boulangerie is an unpredictable evening of queer performance, gathering, and revelry that centers around giving liberated and protected space for creation.
There will be three headlining artists asked to perform, as well as several open mic slots made available. Open mic slots may also be established artists who are interested in using the platform to showcase something new in front of an audience. Some open mic slots may have previously been headlining artists.
SAFE SPACE POLICY
BOULANGERIE is a safe space where all bodies and forms of self-expression will be protected and encouraged, unless it is deemed in any way harmful or detrimental to the safety of others. We will not tolerate racism, homophobia, or transphobia in any form.
OPEN MIC SLOTS
There will be a number of open mic slots available to showcase queer talent outside of our core line-up. If you are a queer artist of any sort (drag not compulsory) and looking to try out something new, please submit an act proposal and little bit about yourself to itswandawhatever@gmail.com. This can be spoken word, live singing, reading of written work, or anything that might be presentable onstage. If you are a writer, you may even bring in someone else to read your work. Priority will be given to non-binary, trans, queer BIPOC artists, drag kings, AFAB/female-identifying artists, and/or those with limited stage experience.
PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN ENTRY
We would like to invite members of the queer community (specifically non-binary, trans, intersex, POC) who may not be able to afford tickets to reach out for Pay-What-You-Can Entry. Please email itswandawhatever@gmail.com to be guaranteed entry, and pay whatever you can on the night.
