Bright Light Bright Light is the moniker of Rod Thomas, a pop culture obsessed artist from South Wales based in New York City who makes colourful, effervescent pop music heavily influenced by films from the 80s and 90s. His career has seem him won fans or critics and artists alike, being handpicked by Cher, Elton John, Scissor Sisters, Erasure and Ellie Goulding to go on tour with them across the world. On record, he has recorded with Elton John, Scissor Sisters, Andy Bell of Erasure, Madonna's backing vocalists Niki & Donna and a whole host of other artists, most notably on UK #1 Dance album ‘Fun City’ (2020) which features 12 LGBTQ+ collaborators.
He has written songs for Bananarama, Scarlet Envy and Tia Kofi, remixed Dannii Minogue, Katya, Jujubee, Erasure and Darren Hayes and as a DJ has played all over the world at Pride events, venues & museums, and in NYC runs his own Tea Dance ‘Romy & Michele’s Saturday Afternoon Tea Dance' at Club Cumming, owned by Alan Cumming who stars in the film that the party is named after.
