Entranced from childhood by her mother's Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaughan records, Rachel discovered she possessed a voice; a rich, expressive instrument, capable of smokey barroom emotion or roaring soul that she was able to control deploying her theatrical experience. When a friend at a film studio gave her a ukulele she had something to build with, turning her thoughts and poems into highly personal songs glazed in dark humour and surrealism.
Following the release of her EP 'Dance For You' which included music composed for ITV 'Inspector Morse' prequel 'Endeavour' in which she also played nightclub chanteuse 'Lila Pilgrim', Rachel developed her sound by collaborating with a wide range of artists including The Cinematic Orchestra, live DnB producer Septabeat and performing extensively throughout Europe. Her latest release 'Love is Life' was composed for short film 'SPARK' with award winning producer Alexander Wells after they met via South London's eclectic open mic scene.
