Goodbye competitions, hello casted drag shows!
We are so excited to present some truly sinful entertainment - join Big Jay and a deadly line up of gorgeous drag artists for a night in beautiful, queer, drag hell! (We're all going there anyway, right?)
This event marks a 1 year anniversary of the first “Reading's Got Drag” show. Rebranded and revived as “Big Jay's Big Drag Show”, this will be the first in a new series of incredible, diverse and super fun drag nights at Bar 77.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with the event organiser on their Instagram account @iotaevents. In the meantime, get your tickets and we'll see you there!
Thanks to Reading Rep theatre, we have an extra treat for you and your tickets! All guests will be entered into a raffle for 2 free Hedda Gabler tickets. More details about the production here.
NOTAFLOF -
All money from tickets is going towards paying the performers. We are broke drag artists and really empathise with the struggle of the state-inflicted poverty crisis. There are 5 free tickets for this event set aside. To arrange free tickets, please email eventsiota@gmail.com with “NOTAFLOF” in the subject title - this account is monitored regularly. This will be treated with discretion and respect and we won't ask questions! Please consider paying it forward if you are more financially secure, as this NOTAFLOF scheme primarly supports low income/unwaged queer people.
If you are unable to attend but would still like to enjoy the magic of drag, the second Thursday of the month is always a free entry drag night at Bar 77 - Drag and Games with House of Big!
Covid Regulations
We ask that you take lateral flow tests if you have symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive. We will not be asking for evidence of negative tests, but caution is key. Iota Events runs many drag shows, so you won't be missing out!
DO NOT ATTEND if you test positive for Covid-19. There are still people whose are vulnerable to coronavirus.
Zero Tolerance Policy
All genders, expressions, sexualities are welcome. The bar does not have a nudity licence - swimwear coverage at the very least.
Please don’t assume people’s pronouns or gender - many people involved in the show are gender non-conforming. It is always best to ask, and to introduce yourself with your pronouns e.g. “Hi, my name is Big Jay, they/he”
Respect everyone’s personal space - this includes staff, audience members and performers! The staff and performers are very hard-working and deserve your respect. If any reports are made against you, this may result in you being barred from the venue and future events.
Zero tolerance for harassment/discrimination. No transphobia, homophobia, racism, islamophobia, body shaming, slut shaming, fatphobia, sexism, ableism.
Zero tolerance for sexual assault and unwanted touching. If any of this occurs, we will stop the event immediately and call the police if appropriate.
We also do not tolerate any criticism, sexual objectification or rude comments towards the drag performers. All forms of drag are valid. Please be mindful of your comments, drag is not an excuse to violate consent.
