2023 is barrelling by at a break neck speed and we are fast coming up to our next live show on Monday 12th June! We'll be back at Castle in the Manchester's Northern Quarter with a line-up of absolutely fantastic comedians.
Come along and see...
Headline act Jack Gleadow
Award-winning stand-up comedian Jack Gleadow, brings his high-energy performance and cheeky persona.
"A latter day Lee Evans" – Beyond The Joke
With support from
Ash Preston
Ash has performed all over the country, including Circuit Breakers 2020 and Edinburgh Fringe Panel Prize award winning Best in Class.
Ash has an eccentric storytelling and high energy stage persona. Once described as a "friendly misanthrope." Fiercely proud of his working class upbringing and underdog mentality… He also resembles several murderers.
Mary Cross
Mary Cross is a delightfully daft comedian, writer and improviser who bring hers own brand of frantic hilarious energy to the stage. Described as "one to watch", Mary finds the funny in the ups and downs of life and leaves the audience feeling on high with her highly relatable stories. Mary has been described as "one to watch", "highly relatable" and "a total natural on stage".
Joe Hollingworth
Joe Hollingworth is a writer, producer, and friend in the world of comedy. He travelled the UK with his esoteric, award-winning stand-up and his sidekick Baby Orville (an egg) before retiring from a life behind the microphone (the egg started to smell) to a life behind the scenes. He has worked with Joe Lycett, Nish Kumar, The Delightful Sausage, and many more incredible comedians, as well as working on his own silly projects. He can be found on the road with the country's funniest people, at Manchester's long-running XS Malarkey Comedy Club every Tuesday since 1997, and behind a laptop trying to squeeze one more pun out before breakfast. Joe's first and currently penultimate book 'Festive Advent Knowledge for Everyone!' will be released in November 2023.
"Fantastic geeky confidence" - The Stand
"Brave, intelligent, and inventive" - Broadway Baby
Edinburgh Revue Stand-Up Champion 2015
Chortle Student Comedy Award semi-finalist 2015 & 2016
and Annabelle Devey
After her first sellout split show for the women in comedy festival, Annabelle has stormed the Manchester circuit with her down to earth delivery, and nonchalant charisma. Annabelle discusses topics, close to her heart, but does not hold back on what she really thinks.
"Annabelle is a really perky and likeable performer with a quirky charisma and some killer lines. An excellent comic - can't wait to have her back" - Toby Hadoke, XS Malarkey
with guest host Umby Winters
Umby Winters is Queer. Not just queer, but very queer. As a nonbinary comedian, Umby is able to bring a unique perspective to everyday interactions that those who fit inside the gender binary take for granted. From things as simple to using the bathroom to decisions as big as their own name; Umby takes the audience on a “gently educational” tour through life as a member of the Trans community.
“The sort of adjectives that would bring Piers Morgan out in a cold sweat” - Chortle
