Join us on the 29th of June to meet French Artist Florent Manelli, who will be talking about his new book, ‘50 LGBTQI+ Who Changed the World’. Florent will be in conversation with playwright and comedian Clare Summerskill, who wrote the foreword to the book.
'50 LGBTQI+ who changed the world' is a new title from indie publisher Aurora Metro Books, which pays tribute in 50 portraits to the activists, personalities, writers and artists who have advanced the LGBTQI+ movement and celebrates those who have fought to create a more inclusive and tolerant world.
The book accompanies a new exhibition by the same name, organised by sister company Aurora Metro Arts & Media charity, which will launch on 18th-30th June 2023 at Strawberry Hill House, Twickenham and then tour for several months around various arts spaces in and around London.
The UK project includes notable British figures: Olly Alexander, Mark Ashton, Michael Cashman, Peter Tatchell, Alan Turing, and Phyllis Akua Opoku-Gyimah (Lady Phyl).
The talk and signing will take place in the bookshop. This is a free event - we look forward to seeing you there!
