Word & Wef - Writing Workshop with Kat Benedict
Sold Out
Join Kat Benedict on Saturday 5th August from 2 pm - 4 pm for Word & Weft writing workshop.
The workshop will take up the concept of water as a new queer perspective on somatic embodiment. We will work with water as a method of bodily engagement with our writing. Through discussion, prompts, writing, reflection, and interactive exercises, we will examine how we might think of water as a complex entangling of ecological, social, and political worlds that has uneven effects.
About Kat Benedict
Kat Benedict is a mad anti-disciplinary artist working in presentational and propositional forms. Their writing and research honours and explores memory, erotics, water, language, death, ritual, and social remapping within queer ecologies. They make lectures, convenings, sculptures, sonic essays, objects and publications that propose extended modes of reading and recording. Regardless of the material outcome, their practice always begins with embodiment. Benedict is the founder of SPORA, a queer publishing project exploring fluid and porous publications.
