We are excited to be presenting a workshop on 10th August from 6:30 pm - 9 pm with visual artist and writer Anna Fux. The two and a half hour workshop is for anyone who wants to tell their story from a first-person point of view. But also for those who think their experiences are too boring to be told. Has that ever stopped a white cishet man from creating a podcast? Exactly.
By the end of the session, you'll have new tools to answer questions such as:
Where to start? How should I tell my story? How can I overcome creative's block?
Whether you want to write your story for yourself, create a little run of 10 fanzines for your chosen family or go big in publishing, this is the right workshop to take the first step.
About Anna Fux

Anna Fux (she/they) is a queer German-Filipina visual artist, editor and writer.
Her practice intersects cultural criticism, photography, antirracism and LGBTQIA+ archival work.
Fux co-founded Pai Pai Mag, the first online magazine for the spanish speaking Asian diaspora.
In 2021 she was one of the artists in residency at Matadero Madrid, which resulted in their photobook Same Same But Different published in 2022.
The photobook was shortlisted by PhotoEspaña as one of the best photobooks of the year.
Same Same But Different Photobook
Anna Fux book is available to purchase at The Common Press. The photobook is made for anyone who has ever had questions about families. It's creation has been a vivid journey of intentionally confronting queerness, race and migration. In the centre of these questions is my Asian-German identity, shaped through growing up in Spain and my queer filipino uncle Tito Nelly. Throughout 180 pages, I am inviting you to be part of our visual and written archive, one that comprises the joys, but also the problems our communities have faced from the 1980's until 2021.
Come see what remained Same Same, but Different.
