Queer Open Decks is a free support and networking event for any LGBTQ+ DJs working within London/Online or those looking to learn basic DJ skills. Started as a small meet up at the London LGBTQ+ Centre, we are now a growing community of genre-fluid LGBTQ+ DJs meeting monthly. We are returning in September to celebrate our 1 year anniversary in Dalston Superstore!
Equipment details: We are able to accommodate both Vinyl & Digital DJS (using either USB or laptops - with or without controllers), but do not currently have access to CDJs.
Sign up details: During the night, we have 6x 20 minute slots from 7-9pm that you can sign up in advance using this link, followed by 6 x 30 minute slots from 9-12pm that you can sign up for on the night.
Please note that this is primarily a social/community-oriented event rather than a club night - we have the whole venue to ourselves to allow for those wishing to learn to DJ in a supportive environment alongside more experienced DJs. We welcome complete beginners - just come as you are and bring your interest! Friends of DJs are very much welcome.
The venue will be in the downstairs room of Dalston Superstore, and is unfortunately only accessible by stairs. Full access details are available on Dalston Superstore's website.
We are a queer space. This means fostering a space that is inclusive and respectful of all backgrounds, particularly those marginalised from mainstream gay spaces. We are anti-racist, trans positive and care about making the space accessible to all.
