Mixed Rage is bringing their acclaimed show - Unapologetically Other - to London this Autumn.
Join us for the London debut of Unapologetically Other at VfDalston, the originator and incubator of queer cultural endeavours and social revolution.
Friday 6 October, 6-9pm at VfDalston 64/66 Stoke Newington Road, London N16 7XB .
Enjoy poetry readings performed by artist Niall Singh at 7pm and short film screening of ‘Rule and Divide’ by artist Sherrie Edgar at 8pm
This show was originally curated by Dominique Nok for the Midlands Art Centre in Birmingham in 2022 to coincide with activities around the Commonwealth Games. It focuses on the collective's personal experiences of being of mixed parentage, the effects of ‘othering’, lack of representation, daily microaggressions and the displacement felt as people of mixed heritage.

About Mixed Rage
Mixed Rage is a collective of artists based in the West Midlands and South London. Jane Thakoordin, a multidisciplinary artist whose Guyanese background is peppered throughout her work through vibrant colour and textiles. Sevonah Golabi, a street artist and writer, her Brummie pride can be seen through her love letters to Birmingham around walls in the city. Sherrie Edgar, a multi-media tour-de-force, using film and photography to tell stories that are personal and impactful. Sina Leasuasu, a Polynesian artist from Aotearoa whose reflections on mental health and indigenous identity are told through various mediums – usually a zine. And Niall Singh, collage artist, poet and musician, whose work is unashamed and brimming with social commentary. Together, their works have been showcased in multiple venues over the last few years, most notably at the Midlands Art Centre in 2022 in their show titled “Unapologetically Other”.
