Join us for a creative evening of sex positive discussion and zine making that will explore how being trans or non-binary affects our sex, kink and intimacy with others.
Our goal is to provide a discussion space for people to muse on how being trans or non-binary has impacted their sex and sexuality, using a creative outlet to summarise and detail what you know about yourself and things you may have learned. Everyone will leave the event with their very own, personal little zine all about their unique trans or non-binary body and what they like (and don't like) to do with it. You will be guided through the creation of your zine by our facilitators and have complete control over what you write or draw about. This zine will hopefully form a complete guide to your pleasure that you can take home and share with partners or friends alike, no more unfulfilling sex or awkward intimacy!
Even if you choose to simply observe, you will hear from others in our community about how their relationship with their bodies and how they have sex has been affected by being trans* and how it may have changed as a result of dysphoria, HRT or surgeries. There will be opportunities to share your own experiences if you would like to as well. Everyone is welcome, even if they have not undergone any medical transitioning. Cisgender partners of trans/non-binary people are also welcome, as are allies interested in learning more; we do however ask that you do not take a zine and simply observe/learn from the event.
The entire event is held in a private room at The Glory, a vibrant LGBTQ+ bar and performance venue, where refreshments and snacks are available in a welcoming environment. The Glory opens at 5pm so feel free to come by early and make a night of it! Doors for the event open 6:30pm and the event starts at 7:00pm. This event is made possible by funding from Hackney Council and the Hackney Pride 365 initiative as part of Transgender Awareness Week 2023.
