Join Mancehster writers Lisa O’Hare, Louis Glazzard and some amazing open mic night acts for a night of poetry at the First Street Winter Tipi. Lisa is a co-host of one of Manchester's longest running spoken word events, Verbose and in September became a 2023 BBC Words First finalist. She took her Saboteur Award nominated spoken word show 'Do You Remember The First Rhyme?' to the Edinburgh Fringe in the summer. Her poetry has featured on BBC Radio Manchester on several occasions and she runs the social media account ‘Community Poetry Officer’ sharing poetry events and opportunities across the UK.
Louis has produced audio poetry for BBC Radio 6 Music and has published his first poetry book, Human Men. Recently, his novels have been shortlisted for awards and he was a virtual Writer in Residence for Melbourne UNESCO City of Literature and Geelong Libraries.
On the night Lisa and Lou will be joined by some incredible open mic acts including Aisha Akramx, Alice Godliman, J. Daniel West, Lou Machen, Nathan Parker and Pinky May.
