Wear what makes you feel your absolute best and dance to some seriously talented local DJs. This photography exhibition is a celebration of self representation in one of Liverpool’s best loved grassroots music venues.
From 1920-40 Hardman House on Rodney Street was the North West’s foremost portrait studio. Sitters, dressed in their finest attire, posed against opulent backgrounds to convey their social status. Bronwyn is delving into Hardman House’s archives with the aim of celebrating the hidden histories of its sitters and examines the visual language of self-presentation within queer culture.
This socially engaged photography project marries an archival exploration alongside the vibrant faces and voices of Liverpool’s contemporary queer community.
