The second night comedy in Saltash run by comedy fans. Our nights will be not for profit and if there are monies after paying for the acts, venue hire, and promotion they will go to a local charity. For this second night we will be supporting the local Samaritans.
We are Dave and Carole and have been to thousands of comedy nights.
Dave holds the Guinness World Record for seeing the most shows in one season of the Edinburgh Fringe (304 in 27 days in 2014), so we know a bit about the world of comedy and want this night to be a bit different, a friendly, safe place for people who also share our passion. And we are also going to feature as many female comics as possible, as there are so many amazing acts out there and so many all male comedy bills.
Our venue Isambard House is a refurbished community space on the platform of Saltash Railway station.
We have a capacity of 75 spaces.
There is no bar. You are welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks thus saving on the somewhat outlandish costs on nights out! But we are right next door to the Two Bridges pub who are happy to serve you in a plastic glass you can bring to the venue.
We are accessible with step free access so are suitable for wheelchair users.
There is lots of free parking near the venue.
For the second night we are bringing one of our favourite acts from the Edinburgh Fringe 2023 to Saltash.
Discovered by Mark Watson on Twitter, Welsh stand up Vix Leyton is a natural storyteller with a keen eye for observation, combining warm, whimsical charm with biting wit. She is also an award winning personal finance expert, and PR hustler, you might have heard of her but you’re not sure why; It could be at your local comedy club but it’s equally likely she could be commenting on the best Meal Deal Combo on the BBC or introducing the week’s best deals on Channel 4’s Steph’s Packed Lunch, or telling you how to get all your money back on a rip off holiday down the pub.
Her panel show podcast 'The Comedy Arcade' is both an audio success and compelling live show, picking up a nomination for Leicester Comedy's best podcast in 2021 and racking up sell out shows at Edinburgh Fringe. She also co-hosts spending show ‘False Economy’ interviewing some of the UK’s biggest names on how they spend it.
She was a ‘Funny Women’ semi-finalist in 2021 and is a regular MC for pro nights. She is also the promoter of the infamous church gig ‘Have I got pews for you’ and resident legal prosecutor for ‘This is your trial’.

Supporting Vix will be Mimi.
Those who came to the Cornish Comedian of the Year competition in 2022 in Saltash would have been blown away by Mimi who won the inaugural event in only her third ever gig beating some very strong acts. Come and see how far she has progressed since then in her triumphant return to the venue at which she won the title.
