'Censoring Palestine: The Weaponisation Of Anti-Semitism' film screening and activist empowerment Q+A
‘ Attention all of Bristol! Join us for the Bristol Premier of 'Censoring Palestine - The Weaponisation of Anti-Semitism' on Saturday, 11th November 2023 at Peoples Republic of Stokes Croft, 4.30pm.
Produced in 2020, the film focuses on the silencing of Palestinian solidarity. Now, with the genocide in Gaza unfolding in front of our eyes, and protests feared as ‘hate marches’ by many Jewish people, this event will take this film as a springboard for critical conversations. How, at this moment, can the pro-Palestinian movement be effective, and navigate both antisemitism and islamophobia to lead to a world where Palestinian freedom and Jewish safety are no longer pitted against each other?
"Join us in celebrating the boundless beauty of the human radical imagination as we delve into strategic examples of resistance”
The origins of the film are are based in Dan’s work 'Never Again Ever,' a network of grandchildren of the Holocaust demanding action over inherited trauma / Never Again - the launch cabaret
About the event - Post the screening our speakers will discuss how ordinary people can become part of an extraordinary community. We will explore lessons from previous anti-war revolutions that aim to intervene in the theatre of power dynamics, resulting in us being marched from A-B by the very institutions whose intention it is to crack down on our necessity to revolt.
Join us in celebrating the boundless beauty of the human radical imagination as we delve into strategic examples of resistance.
Critical questions will be explored including (1) What is possible to advocate? (2) What can we do with our experience? (3) What do effective protest movements look like? (4) How to catalyse youth leadership that creates concerted and sustained revolutionary movements and effective mass civil disobedience?
