Come and experience a two hour workshop with Dawn Gracie and learn the art of burlesque & feather fan dancing

No experience needed and all props provided - but a willingness to let go and have some fun is essential

This two hour experience will take you from complete novice to knowing 2 routines with the art of burlesque, aided by glamorous props

Midday Arrive at Southbourne Village Hall

2pm Leave Southbourne Village Hall with a new skill, a new outlook on life and a whole new reason to go and buy fancy things

7pm (optional but highly reccommended) Return to the Hall to watch the professionals at the Show Girl cabaret hosted by your mentor Dawn

What to bring to the workshop: Yourself, dance shoes (suede bottom) or any other non marking shoe. No stilettos or trainers. A spare bra/back fastening top. A spare button up shirt.

What's provided: Opera gloves, (non feather) boas, pasties (tassels), feather fans (a pair each)

Note: You can experience burlesque without ‘revealing all’ so there's the option to try tassels ontop of clothing or give it a spin for real. Choice is yours

In my 11 years of teaching this wonderful theatrical art, I have seen people blossom before my eyes. The power of being given permission to feel utterly fabulous can be life changing, and everyone deserves to know how this feels

You do not need to be a dancer, an athlete or fully able bodied to take part but if you do have any physical limitations which might affect your walking, stability or general movement, please email me to check prior to booking dawn@dawnsvintagedo.com. The burlesque community is open to all and all abilities are showcased, but for the purpose of this workshop it's useful to know in advance how I need to adjust some choreography so that everyone can fully enjoy the experience
