VVITCHES.CLUB
VVITCHES.club a queer coven that plays with the intersection between club culture, queerness and witchery.
Our love of genres is wide. We want to experiment, dance and make space.
M.E.L.T (Make Electronic-music Live Together)
Audible. Silent. All in between. Fluid. Queer.
M.E.L.T is a queer soundscape improvisation project led by Vanessa De Michelis, a sound artist from Southeastern Brazil, exploring the practice of communities around experimental music & gender/identities.
The participants and format changes with every iteration. With this session combining the sounds of 5 participants.
“We are listening and contributing to our collective-sonic story telling tonight and celebrating our existences here together.
Let's listen with love, compassion, with our ears and our bodies. Let's listen with sonic ears, music years, our bodies' ears, our historical and political ears and allow all musical forms, sounds and their conveyors co-habit the space.
Like a dance of contact and improvisation, you should be aware that, like all clouds in the sky, your sound and notes too shall pass.
They must have a beginning, a middle and an end, not linear, but parallel and entangled with each other, like trees, like roots, like sonic rhizomes separate and yet, connected.”

VNSS
VNSS is the DJ moniker of Vanessa De Michelis. She began her career in the late 2000s as a DJ and quickly became a prominent figure in the local Electroclash and Techno scenes representing women and queer DJs in an otherwise male-dominated field. Driven by a desire to further explore synthesiser-based composition, in her early career she also worked as a sound designer and participated in multiple experimental music projects and bands.
After a significant break focused on her sound art and new media projects in São Paulo and London, VNSS has recently returned to DJing. Her sets are well crafted sonic journeys, often contrasting dirty synth riffs with immersive synthesiser soundscapes. This particular style is an influence of labels such as Bpitch Control, Kompakt, Clash Lion and Get Physical. VNSS's love for dense sonic textures and atmospheric electronics has earned her the nickname 'the priestess' by her closest fans.
As Vanessa De Michelis in sound art and VNSS in DJing, her sonic career spans over 10 years and makes her a key figure in Latin American and Brazilian experimental and electronic music histories. She both influenced and took part in the scenes from where other important Brazilian artists emerged such as Digitaria, Rakta, TERR, Corazón de Robota, Sonora and Make it Heard (Berro-NuSOm label).

FEMNMS (aka Liv) first appeared on the London scene in a spectacular way in 2019. Their first public appearance was at The Cause, in a competition amongst 10 other DJs playing 30 minute sets. Her fast and eclectic style of mixing proved to be an infectious crowd pleaser, winning the competition and packing out the dancefloor. Since then she has been helping organise the VVITCHES nights and playing nights across London.

Runa
Dreamy, melancholic, euphoric and playful. Runa's mixes are a journey through a whirlpool of emotions.
As part of VVITCHES she conceptualises, plans and DJs the events. With a track selection unafraid of taking the dance floor through different states of being: multiple genres, moods and BPMs are all on the cards when she's behind the decks.
