Suchandrika Tries Some Characters
Suchandrika is a London-based writer and comedian who left a career in journalism to do this. She's got some character comedy for you tonight, which may include sea creatures, hate figures and a secret third thing.
Since starting out in stand-up in January 2020, Suchandrika has been a runner-up in the BCG Pro Performance Awards 2020/1, a semi-finalist in the Funny Women Stage Awards 2020 and named by them as 'One to Watch'. She has performed at Edinburgh Fringe, Boom Chicago Comedy Festival in Amsterdam and Women in Comedy Festival, Manchester. Suchandrika also writes on topical comedy shows including Radio 4's The News Quiz and BBC One's Have I Got News For You. She is currently working on her second hour-long show, Doomscrolling, which is about the speed of the news, what the hell it's doing to us all, and how she's going to explain this chronically online era to her niece (5, but growing by the day!).
Mitzi Fitz
Get ready for the wildest acting seminar you’ve ever attended! In her 42 years in showbiz, Mitzi Fitz has seen and done it all. Tonight, she’ll bare all, in more ways than one… Expect practical tips on breaking into the industry, behind-the-scenes insights into Hollywood’s latest and greatest, and uncomfortably explicit descriptions of her ex-husband Larry’s genitalia.
Content Warnings (please note, these contain spoilers):
- Nudity
- Audience Interaction
- Depictions of addiction, disordered eating and coercive relationships
- Themes of fatphobia and racism
Come help the “endlessly creative and subversive” (Fringe Biscuit) Posey Mehta get one step closer to creating the perfect character comedy about fat bodies in Hollywood, in this work-in-progress that involves far more nudity and burlesque than you’d ever see at a TedTalk.
Posey Mehta is an “unhinged” (Ed Fringe Review) newcomer to the alternative comedy and cabaret scenes. Their cult-hit comedy debut racked up multiple 5-star reviews to become the 22nd Highest Reviewed Comedy Show of last year’s Edinburgh Fringe (British Comedy Guide).
