For people who like coffee but want to try out poetry. ☕🖊️
Idea is simple, come and enjoy a coffee. Hear a poem, we will discuss it and then write a poem.
It's speciality coffee, simple poetry. Poetry is always for the everyday, and there’s a misconception that poetry isn’t. People over complicate it and it sometimes feels inaccessible. I want more people to experience the joy of it, and of writing it, which is why I’m starting the club.
The session will be hosted by Louis Glazzard in collaboration with Pot Kettle Black. It will last around an hour and your ticket includes the price of a coffee of your choice provided by Pot Kettle Black.
Louis Glazzard is a working class queer writer and coffee lover. He was born in Yorkshire, England. His poems have been published nationally by magazines including Untitled Voices, Queerlings, Polari Press and broadcasted on BBC Arts and BBC Radio 6.
Louis released his debut poetry collection Human Men in 2021 and he runs writing workshops for new and emerging writers. He is also currently represented by Frog Literary for his debut novel.
Pot Kettle Black is dedicated to the art of brewing the best coffee and cooking-up vibrant, easy going food. This session we will be at the Angel Gardens venue.
