This workshop prioritises people of colour. Level: Beginner to Intermediate
The workshop will dive into the vibrant and dynamic world of Caribbean social dances, with a particular focus on the movement language of dancehall. From understanding the foundational steps and movements to learning about the cultural significance and social elements embedded within the dance, participants will walk away with a newfound appreciation for the art form and its cultural roots.
This workshop is part of our LGBT+ History Month Programme which includes queering poetic form, drag makeup andusing movement to connect with the emotional body workshop.

What to expect?
This workshop will be led by Azara. Please be prepared for movement & dance and dress accordingly.
Info on step free access to the space
The workshop will take place in the Scene Dock at Stanley Arts.
Access for wheelchair users is currently not possible for this space. There is a set of ten narrow wooden steps with a handrail on both sides down to the Scene Dock floor.
Toilets
There are a mix of gender neutral and gendered toilets at the venue.
