CLOTHING SWAP + SOCIAL + WORKSHOPS
W/ FOOD HALL & FLEA MARKET
Join us for a fabulous 🌈 Queer Clothing Swap and Social! Bring up to 10 items of gently-used clothing that no longer spark joy in your wardrobe and exchange them for new-to-you items that suit your current style. This event is for everyone in the queer community to find clothing that fits and expresses their individuality and affirm their identity without breaking the bank.
Our event will be full of fun, so bring your friends along and meet other queer folks. Hackney Bridge is a massive venue that has loads of space to sit down and socialise, as well as a an incredible food hall with loads of options for food + drink! Enjoy playing one of our card/board games, take part in one of our amazing workshops, or pop over to FLEA LONDON which is being hosted in a separate area of Hackney Bridge.
How the Swap Works:
When you arrive you will exchange your swappable items for tokens. You can then browse items brought by others, and “check out” at the end by “cashing in” your tokens for those items.
1 item = 1 token to exchange 🔄
Once the items are traded for tokens they go straight onto the floor, so make sure you are 100% sure before you pass them over.
Then you can look at all the items brought by other people, take breaks and enjoy some food or games, go back to see if anything else you like has been added, and “check-out” with your chosen items whenever you are finished. We encourage people to arrive earlier so they can get the most out of the event and see more items that come into the swap before they are snagged by someone else.
We will not accept items that are dirty, stained, torn (with the exception of “distressed” items), missing buttons, have broken zips, etc. We also will not accept underwear, socks, tights/hosiery. We do allow hats, scarves, belts, and bags. Shoes must be in great condition and clean!
✨SPECIAL NOTICE✨ We are facilitating a swap at the Royal Museum of Greenwich's LGBTQ+ Family Day in February. For this reason, we are making a special exception to allow children's clothing as donations, though we will not be putting them out for swapping at this event.
Workshops:
You must register for the workshops when you check-in. Space is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

QueerSwap is a series of LGBTQ+ swap events facilitated by The Rainbow Exchange, a UK based charity run by two local queer Londoners. These events are operated entirely by our amazing team of volunteers. Tickets are PWYC and are considered donations that go towards helping us cover necessary overhead costs, and improve and grow our events. We are currently in need of quite a few items, so extra donations really help. Recommended donation is £5 per person, but if you are able to contribute more we would really appreciate it.
