Marie Marie is a poet, finding the words for human experiences as she dwells in the difficulties and triumphs in what is to be human. Normal or abnormal; she attempts to bring these ideas into focus and into thought. She has been writing since the age of 17 and has been exploring the poetry scene for many years. She has featured in events such as;" Speak = (equal)" hosted by the London Queer Writers, and " In midst of rhyme", hosted by The Bloody Poets. She hopes to take you on a journey to investigate your own human experiences. Isolde is a writer and spoken word poet who traces the birth of her words from her experiences with mental health and the journey of Chinese diaspora. From a young age she found both her solace and expression in the canvas of blank paper. Drawing with words what she never quite could using crayons or paint brushes. Her writing is sharp, with tongue-in-cheek references to her heroes, inspirations, and the eternal spirit of hope. A rallying cry for those who demand from existence the stars in their eyes and the wind in their hair, her work seeks to find bravery in the uncertain, joy in the mundane, and peace in the turmoil of life. Isolde also takes a proactive interest in community building and organization. With a rag-tag team of volunteers she runs a community art space called “Sweet Sundays” in Hackney Wick every first Sunday of the month. Providing free tea, free food, and a free open mic for anybody who is looking for a warm and welcoming space, or perhaps just to nurse a hangover. Check them out @thesweetsundays . Isolde has been published by “TransActual UK” and has been described as “always number 1 in my heart” by her mother.
