Film Screening of Ted and Noel
Sold Out
We are honoured to screen the deeply moving film, Ted and Noel. This documentary follows the story of Ted Brown - former Gay Liberation Front activist - as he is forced to witness the gross mis-treatement of his late partner, Noel after he is admitted to a care home. We follow Ted’s quest to shed light on how care home residents from the LGBTQIA+ community are abused and discriminated against as he reflects on the use of activism, his own past and how to come to terms with his loss.
The screening will be followed by a conversation between Sadiya Abjani of SAGE, the largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQ+ elders, and Tony Collins-Moore, longtime AIDS activist and Well-Being Manager at Carers Centre Tower Hamlets London. Together we will creatively explore how these forms of institutionalised violence - racism and homophobia - might be prevented and truly caring homes become a reality for LGBTQ+ people as we grow older.
This event is the first in the series titled, Who is A Queer Carer? a collaborative programme jointly developed in partnership of Carers Centre Tower Hamlets, OutPatients and Safely Held Spaces.
