We are kicking off the first month of 2024 with a bonus show featuring two of our favourite digital content creators, not only doing previews of their own new hours, but an extra special together as well!
Join us at Gullivers on Sunday 4th February for the earliest preview we've ever done, featuring:
Ian Lane
Ian Lane is the second fastest in the world at completing the 1999 video game Worms Armageddon, yet he almost got killed in a terrorist attack 13 years ago because he forgot to run. A work-in-progress multimedia stand-up comedy show about being too fast AND too slow.
"Autistic storytelling at its finest" - Disability Arts Online
"A mix of startling honesty and beautiful absurdity...a densely layered yet consistently funny set2" ★★★★ - Comedy To Watch
"Inventive, cliche-phobic comedy that makes a strong impression for its creativity" - Chortle
Laura Monmoth
In August 2023, Laura Monmoth (Leicester Comedy Festival best new show award nominee, Birmingham Comedy Festival Breaking Talent winner) attempted to reach Lands End using only local bus services. Exciting, right? Well imagine this concept, but with added treachery, debauchery, and at least one nunnery. A show about decisions, distraction, and not sitting in an oversized, wheeled oven during the hottest week of the year.
"Genius!" - Blue Giraffe Comedy
"This show has tons of creativity behind it and was delivered with verve... This is a show well worth seeing." - Notts Comedy Review
and both, in "Laura Monmoth Attempts To Complete Four Mario Games In Under An Hour Whilst Ian Lane Distracts Her With Bovine Anecdotes And Insincere Encouragement [Working Title]"
Laura Monmoth (Leicester Comedy Festival best new show nominee) attempts to beat four Mario games in under an hour. Made harder by the games switching at random intervals. Made impossible by the unintentional sabotage of Ian Lane (New Comedian Of The Year finalist 2014; Not So New Comedian Of The Year finalist 2022). An hour of hope, suffering and a small plumber being thrust into a pit.
As always, our tickets are free to book at point of sale, although we will be taking donations by both cash and card on the door, which will be entirely split between performers.
