An outrageously camp millionaire aesthete and politician; an artist who worked in Andy Warhol’s Factory; a celebrated WWI soldier and poet; a ground-breaking film-maker who painted with tar and planted flowers in the shingle; a trail-blazing lesbian novelist; the first trans-man to undergo phalloplasty; and one of the most celebrated theatrical talents of the 20th century – these are among the prominent LGBTQI+ characters you’ll encounter on this guided walk from Sandgate’s high street to the heart of Folkestone.
Join Folkestone Pride Director and co-owner of The Folkestone Bookshop, CP Hunter on a guided walking tour of Folkestone's Queer History for LGBTQ+ History Month.
