Bonjour gworls, gaze and thexy theys, we are back for our first club night of 2024!
LOOSE CHANGE runs non-profit, cause-centred queer events. Since launched in 2022, we’ve thrown themed parties to raise funds for UK-based queer charities.
This April we’re privileged to be joining forces with Queers For Palestine, and together are throwing this party to fundraise for Medical Aid for Palestinians.
True queer liberation cannot exist without liberation for Palestinians, and so we invite you to come and party with us to help us support this vital cause 🇵🇸
Joining us on the night are DJ icons Aria HomieBaba, Watcha and SIAN!
Aria HomieBaba (he/him) is a queer London-based Iranian DJ known for his dizzying clash of genres from Iranian Bandari and Arabic Dabke to Y2K pop and Jungle. He began playing sets alongside London Iranian Techno rave collective, Mehmooni LDN, to becoming a regular for the queer SWANA and South Asian night, Nazar, taking over Pride on the Southbank two years running.
Watcha (they/them) returns to LOOSE CHANGE after their A+ closing set at our Halloween bash, Fangs & Fur! As well as co-running the award-winning collective Queer House Party, Watcha is on SISU’s roster and launched Dance Against Deportations, to a sell-out crowd at Avalon Cafe.
SIAN (she/her) is your new favourite butch twink meets pop princess, playing sl*t pop that will have you on your knees! SIAN also returns to LOOSE CHANGE, having played an electric set for us at our Rainbow Migration fundraiser, All The Lovers, in early 2023.
We’re incredibly excited that one of our favourite spaces - The Yard in Hackney Wick - will be hosting us for this event. The four of us have partied at The Yard for a long time and can’t wait to bring a LOOSE CHANGE to their iconic digs 🩷
In addition to our iconic DJs, Queers for Palestine will have a stall and will be taking donations to support the Ravers For Palestine strike fund. The fund aims to support artists who withdraw their labour as part of wider cultural boycotts in solidarity with Palestinians.
If you would like to attend this event but do not have the funds, please email us on loosechange.party@gmail.com
LOOSE CHANGE seeks to create safe and inclusive spaces for queer folks and their allies.
We have a zero tolerance to bigotry or inappropriate behaviour at our events, and will have individuals removed if they make guests or staff feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
Please talk either to us, security or the bar team on the day (or after) if you need to.
