Advance tickets are now sold out, but there will be plenty available on the door. Tickets on the door are £10 (NOTAFLOF).
DAFT! Events is proud to present our spring event - DRAMA AND CONFLAMA! This is a show celebrating all things dramatic, whether that's theatre, reality TV, or our favourite TV dramas. If you've ever screamed at the tv watching Big Brother, fallen off your chair when a new twist is revealed on Desperate Housewives, or smashed your tiny opera binoculars by fainting at the theatre, you're in for a treat! This drag show is a must for anyone who lives for drama, so get ready for gall, gossip and grudges!
As always, costumes are strongly encouraged. Think: serving sass in satin; being a villainesses in velvet; looking flawless in floor-length; being a hot mess in mesh, turning heads in tuelle, and leaving lasting impressions in lace. Or, just come dressed as your favourite TV drama character or your favourite reality TV star - the choice is yours! There is no wrong way to interpret the theme, just be your beautiful and creative selves <3
Please make sure to buy your ticket in advance - it's way cheaper and very helpful for us as independent producers. Refunds will be available until 12pm on 13th April. Tickets are available on the door for £10 each, subject to availability (however, we operate a NOTAFLOF policy until tickets are sold out.).
A free guestlist for those who otherwise would not be able to afford to attend is available - please message @itslivvicariously on instagram to access this.
House rules/safer spaces [essential reading]: Our safer spaces policy closely aligns with that of Wharf Chambers (See: https://www.wharfchambers.org/safer-spaces/) , whereby no prejudiced behaviour (racism, ableism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, etc), violence, or harrassment is tolerated under any circumstances. As attendees, please be considerate of this and report any breaches to our Safeguarding Officer on the night so that they can deal with it accordingly. Please also be conscious of the space around you - if the room is crowded, please be mindful of other people's personal space.
Accessibility [also essential reading!]: Wharf Chambers is accesible for wheelchair users. Ramps will be down on the night to ensure that the space is entirely step-free. Chairs are available on request for those who need them - if possible, please ask in advance so I have a rough idea of how many people will need them and can account for this. One unavoidable drawback of the event space we use is that it lacks good quality ventilation. If you have cold or flu symptoms which could be contagious, please either mask up or do not attend the show- refunds will be available through Eventbrite up to 24hrs before the event. We are committed to making these shows as accessible as we can - if you have any queries about accessibility before the event, please do not hesitate to ask and we will do our best to accomodate.
DAFT! events prioritises queer, trans and gender variant communities in all of our shows. Allies are always very welcome, provided that they are respectful of the event and other attendees.
Audience participation is always consensual. Audience members can choose whether to take part in games on stage, and will not be randomly picked on by the host in the duration of the show. Typically, our events are a positive environment where we celebrate and uplift our audience members, so basically, don't worry about having the p*ss taken out of you if you're stood near the front!
You must be a member or guest of a member of Wharf Chambers to attend. Joining costs £2 at https://www.wharfchambers.org/civicrm/contribute/transact/?reset=1&id=1. This is an 18+ event.
