The news is sh*t but we already knew that. Join us as we work out what’s really going on and try and find some answers.
Deep Dive is a current affairs programme about homelessness hosted by Museum of Homelessness directors Matt and Jess. Featuring commentators, incisive analysis, and some honest talk, this monthly show will unpack what’s going on beyond tabloid sensationalism and stereotyping.
About the contributors
June's show will focus on the increasing criminlisation of poverty and will feature special guests Lana Adamou and Abdirahim Hassan.
Abdirahim is the founder of Coffee Afrik CIC, overseeing seven hubs, 17 projects rooted in mental health recovery, culturally, sensitive, problematic drug use projects, a research and litigation lab, two women’s co-ops and a thriving youth hub the busiest in Tower Hamlets. Abdirahim has spent 20 years organizing communities campaigning about housing injustice, and believes in systemic change and good trouble.
Lana Adamou joined Liberty in July 2020, having worked in private practice since 2009. Lana specialises in challenging police powers, and unfairness in the criminal justice system. She has helped a wide-range of clients to uphold their human rights and civil liberties, including bereaved families, protestors, over-policed young people, and victims of serious crime. Prior to joining Liberty, she co-chaired the Police Action Lawyers’ Group, a national organisation of lawyers committed to holding the police to account. Lana joined Liberty to use the law to protect fundamental rights and freedoms at both individual and systemic levels.
