For our fourth night we return to Isambard House for another double bill.
So its back to bring your own snacks and drinks (or go to the Two Bridges next door)
We have a real treat of a night for you with two fantastic comedians doing full length work in progress shows, of the shows they will be taking to the Edinburgh Fringe in August.
As always, all profits from the night will go to a good cause. Tonight will be for the local Samaritans group. They were due to be the charity for the sold out January show which we had to cancel at very short notice when our act broke down on the way to the gig.
The first of the shows tonight is
Dani Johns: Cringe
Cringe is an interactive, explorative show about laughing off your mistakes and owning your cringe-worthy past (or present, we won’t judge). It's a stand-up comedy show where Dani offloads the highs and lows of her most embarrassing moments and encourages the audience to do the same. It’s like group therapy, but funnier and with less crying.
'Effortlessly charming banter' - TheWeeReview.com
'Instantly likeable with strong gags to back it up' - Kerfuffle Comedy
Our other comedian for the night is a star of Live at the Apollo and we are very lucky to have lured her to Cornwall.
Spring Day: Exvangelical
As seen on BBC's Live at the Apollo, American transplant Spring Day provides dark comedy for nice people. Spring joined a Christian cult at 13-year-old and left 13 years later. She's never talked about it before because she didn't think you heathens would understand. Watch her recount why she joined and how she escaped a growing fundamentalist Christian community that had become her whole world. Expect one hell of a coming-of-age story about finding faith as Spring explores the nature of cults and the role they play in our everyday lives.
