It's Y2K and pop music is still riding high - from the uplifting sounds of Steps and S Club 7 to the sleek sophisticated sounds of Destiny's Child, with a sprinkling of dance music. Victoria Beckham (and Dane Bowers) went head to head against Spiller and Sophie Ellis-Bextor (and we will be re-living that chart battle!), Billie Piper returned for her pop princess crown and Kylie spun round and back into the charts.
The world was introduced to Daphne & Celeste and Samantha Mumba, pop fans saw the return of All Saints, Spice Girls, Madonna and Louise and the charts were awash with A listers from America including Britney, Christina, Backstreet Boys and *NSync. Madison Avenue, Fragma, Sonique and Modjo headlined the dance acts amongst a sea of garage and trance music (including the Big Brother theme!).
We’ll be playing the A list popstars from 2000 along with B listers like Point Break, Madasun and Jessica Simpson along with loads of other pop and dance hits from 2000. Expect loads of forgotten gems you're unlikely to hear anywhere else (from Richard Blackwood to Made In London and Buffalo G). Our Bargain Bin first hour of 2000’s pop flops (from Mero to Precious and Lara Fabian) kicks the night off as usual from 9pm.
And of course Karma will be back to perform another fab drag show!
