Exploring Queer Space - a creative writing workshop
Saturday 29 June 10:30am to 11:30am
What does it mean to inhabit queer space, whether real, remembered or imagined? In this practical workshop, we’ll explore what queer spaces mean to us and consider how – in challenging times – creativity can help us to imagine more for ourselves and our communities. Working with queer texts and images, participants will be guided through a series of exercises, with the option to share what they’ve written with the group.
Led by Edinburgh novelist, Niamh Ní Mhaoileoin, this relaxed and welcoming workshop is suitable for beginners or more experienced writers.
This workshop is limited to 10 people so please book early to avoid disappointment!
We are happy to accommodate a BSL Interpreter if you would like one. Please get in touch and we will make the necessary arrangements.
Mask wearing is supported and encouraged (and will not be challenged) and we will have masks available for anyone to use. We recommend all who attend Porty Pride to do a Lateral Flow Test before attending an event. We support anyone wishing to be seated at a safe distance during an event, please just ask.
