Join us on 2 August back in Hackney Wick with our friends’ The Yard, as we throw a summer party for Palestine 🍉
We’re joined by DJs SIAN, Trojan-Tyne, Dom Topics and extra special guest LUMA!
The Sameer Project is our chosen charity for this event, which is a mutual aid group supporting people in Palestine. 100 per cent of profit from ticket sales will be donated to support their work.
Meet our DJs
SIAN (she/her) is your new favourite butch-twink-meets-pop-princess, playing sl*t pop that will have you on your knees 🥵 she returns for her third LOOSE CHANGE set, having played our previous IN OUR MILLIONS night (in support of Medical Aid for Palestinians) and All The Lovers, in support of Rainbow Migration 🏳️⚧️
Trojan-Tyne (she/her) is a DJ born and raised in east London, inspired by the vibrant sound systems of family parties. She fuses her Persian, Jamaican and Colombian heritage into an unforgettable musical experience spanning funky house, dancehall, R&B and hip hop edits. A trailblazing activist, Trojan-Tyne’s recent sets include Madonna’s Celebration Tour Pre and Post After Parties; Pxssy Palace; and Vogue Rights.
Dom Topics (he/him) is here to spin the beats and set the vibe! Moving between pop, R&B, and funky disco, he’s known for his own electrifying mixes and ability to tailor the tunes to keep the room going all night. A staple in the London (and international) queer nightlife scene, we’re excited to welcome Dom for his first LOOSE CHANGE set!
LUMA (she/her) is a British-Iraqi DJ, radio host, club promoter and nightlife curator. Her Arabic heritage and London roots influence her far-reaching club-ready mix of genres and styles. LUMA has played a range of venues and scenes including fabric, Boiler Room, Jazz Cafe, Keep Hush and Boomtown Festival, as well as international stints in Berlin, Cairo, Vienna, Amman and Bethlehem. She also runs Habibti Nation, showcasing electronic SWANA music (and from the Arabic speaking world) focusing on female, gender non-conforming and trans talent.
A note from us:
In recent weeks, we’ve been reflecting on whether continuing to host and promote club nights feels right, given the atrocities we continue to see in Gaza and elsewhere in the world. We know that many in our community, particularly those who are personally impacted by these events, will not want or feel able to engage in nightlife spaces during the current climate.
We also know how important queer nightlife spaces can be as a tool for community, for decompression and recentring, in particular during times of personal or collective crisis. For this reason, we have chosen to progress with this event, and with our efforts to raise money for Palestinian mutual aid group The Sameer Project.
LOOSE CHANGE was created not just to throw non-profit events to support causes we care about, but also to create safe spaces for queer people and their loved ones to come together and have fun, heal and meet new people. Our intent in proceeding with our next event is to be there for those who want or need us to be. For those who don’t, we hope you understand why we have chosen to continue hosting our events at this time, and will be here for you if and whenever you need us in the future 🤍
If you would like to attend this event but do not have the funds, please email us on loosechange.party@gmail.com
LOOSE CHANGE seeks to create safe and inclusive spaces for queer folks and their allies.
We have a zero tolerance to bigotry or inappropriate behaviour at our events, and will have individuals removed if they make guests or staff feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
Please talk either to us, security or the bar team on the day (or after) if you need to.
