Glasgow Housing Struggles Archive Launch

The Glasgow Housing Struggle Archive (GHSA) is a collective project to share, record and learn from Glasgow’s rich history of housing movements, rent strikes, occupations and protest. Founded by Living Rent members, the GHSA also aims to document the union’s contemporary history as it rapidly expands.

We warmly invite everyone interested in housing struggles to the launch of a new GHSA project – Tools for Tenant Power - in collaboration with the University of Glasgow. This digital resource features interviews with staff and members from Living Rent, ACORN, LA Tenants Union and the Barcelona Tenants' Union, sharing the experiences and lessons of housing campaigns and strategies across the world today.

The event will feature a panel discussion on the role of archives and radical history in struggle, opportunity to view original material from the Glasgow Women’s Library’s collection stores, and a chance to participate in planning the future of the GHSA collective.
