We are delighted to offer two writing workshops with Naila Dunleavy, and these will provide a space for you to think about writing on a deeper level and to connect with other poets.
These workshops are free and open to all, but spaces are very limited, so book now, and please let us know if you are unable to attend.
Aapna/Our Stories Workshops with Naila Dunleavy
Both these workshops will be relaxed and informal – a space to share and start explorations of our personal histories which will hopefully lead to conversations beyond the workshops.
Writing Workshops with Naila DunleavyWorkshop 1: ‘Remembering our Histories’ – reserved for South Asian women.
Saturday 20th July, 11 a.m., 2 hours
You are invited to a space that will be used to nurture, hold, share and celebrate ourselves. We will reflect on our heritage, what may have caused ruptures in our families and wider society in the present and over generations. We will use various ways to express ourselves, collectively honouring and reclaiming our ancestral practices with the hope that we can intervene and change intergenerational trauma and transform/heal ourselves and future generations.
You are invited to bring with you personal memories in relation to your families (near or distant), photographs, clothes, items inherited, coins, stamps, letters etc. The intention is to gently embark on a journey of exploration into our pasts for our wellbeing, nourishment and healing.
Please note, this session is reserved for South Asian women.
