Is this class for you?
This program is for you: if you feel like an imposter, are unsure how to communicate your artist project concisely and clearly, or, practically, how to produce, manage and direct your project.
This workshop series is for you if you find yourself thinking:
“I want to make a book of poetry”
“I want to record an EP”
“I want to make a film”
“I want to have an exhibition & take my art more seriously”
But…..
you beat yourself up with narratives of:
- “I never finish anything”
- “What’s the point? It (insert your idea) has been done before”
- “I am wasting time feeling like an imposter”
- “I’m an outsider, I don’t belong as an artist”
- “I have this narrative that I’m {too much} / {not enough} / {not organised enough}”
- “I find grants and project management really overwhelming and scary but I want to do this project I’ve been thinking about for ages now”
- “I say to myself, I’m not good with planning”
- “Grants are a waste of time, but I don’t have the money to pay for a crew”
- “I’m disabled & neurodivergent, I never finish anything”
How will this program achieve artistic expansion?
This workshop series will equip participants with effective frameworks of thinking, plus practical knowledge about the skills needed to support their artistic journey. It will assist participants to create a road map for their project.
This series will move through feelings of imposter syndrome, to gain an understanding of the project management tools needed to attain grants, submit applications, and will share neurodiverse artistic methods for these skills.
Participants will receive pre workshop training material & post workshop resources to use at their own discretion.
Each workshop will include a presentation surrounding the focus of the session, then through individual and group exercises participants will be encouraged to develop and expand creative skills & methods with the necessary direction and assistance from Josie.

(a) The other cafes are competition
(b) Other cafes add to the vibrancy of the street
(c) There’s a chance for collaboration, dialogue & community
(d) I wouldn’t even open a cafe, there’s already cafes on the street
If you are automatically answered (a), (b), or (c) this program is for you. If you answered (d) perhaps 1:1 coaching is more suitable, to discuss email:

Josie Alexandra is an award winning experimental multi-dimensional person, artist, producer, director, and educator currently based in London. Josie is the founder and directors of Aeaea Studios.
Continually exploring new ways to relate, Josie’s artistic projects reflect their fascination with relationality and relationships within world(s); as sites for reclamation and transformation in world-making processes. Seeking to defy the easily consumable, in order to gift the world with narratives of limitless complexity and multidimensionality, envisioning futurisms in the current global crisis’
For the parts of us still seeking to loosen individualities grip and find markers of “safety” Josie is with community among the transgender & gender fluid folk, the neurodivergent, the queer, those with chaotic families, those that dream between realms, those that have ancestry story’s of multi pronged migration {from villages and islands now known as Greece, Poland, Scotland & England} and among those navigating solidarity within settler colonialisms ongoing violence and those that have fond memories from Naarm & know where Telstra Tower is. Most importantly, Josie values difference and being humbled by swallowing judgemental urges and muscle clenching and allowing space for the curious to flower.
And for the parts that ask yes, but what do you actually do though? As if our productivity is the marker of value, to date, Josie has proudly made an awarding winning short film: Compass in Hand, has a forth coming poetry epic, a book of poetry: Imprints of Witness and is a painter currently working on a new series.
