Join us for a day of exploring stories of migrant workers in NHS and making zines/badges to reflect our own NHS experience!
Feel free to join one or both activities, and we will share the lunch at noon together.
In this event, we will first visit the exhibition: ‘Heart of the Nation: Migration and the Making of the NHS’. This exhibition, as the website introduces, ‘shines a light on the stories and experiences of people who have come to Britain to work in the NHS through photography, film, oral histories and an immersive experience that brings together singing and storytelling. ’ It is a great opportunity for us to learn the experiences of those marginalised groups in the healthcare system and the hidden history of NHS.
After lunch, we will head to SET Social at Peckham to make zines and badges. Our experienced facilitators will guide you make zines that inspired by the exhibition and to reflect our own NHS experiences as migrants, women and LGBTQ+… You will also have the opportunity to make badges inspired by this exhibition! We will provide all the materials, however, you are more than welcome to bring your own zine/badge materials.
