WLTM: Dykes to make shows with
A lightly-facilitated ‘speed-dating’ style session, to meet other queer & feminist creatives.
Hosted by Bechdel Theatre, designed to take the hierarchical awkwardness out of Fringe networking.
How it’ll run:
Register for free (essential to ensure we have space for everyone - if you can no longer make it, cancel your ticket to make space for others!)
Everyone will have a quick speed-dating style convo, to help you chatting with some new people.
We guarantee you’ll meet some fresh faces to make your Fringe feel friendlier!
We hope you’ll find like-minded folks to organise more (profesh) coffees with later.
Perhaps you’ll click with someone special, and they’ll become your next creative collaborator?! (we look forward to seeing your show at fringe 2025 👀)
This event runs 4-6pm - please arrive by 4pm if you can, so you don't miss introductions.
Brookes Bar is open all evening - there’s nothing to stop you grabbing another coffee (or pint) after!
We'll provide:
- A soft/hot drink for everyone registered
- Labels, for your name/pronouns/job/anything you like
- Suggested talking-points for timed chats
We recommend you bring:
- Your flyers/cards/contact deets, to make sure you stay in touch.
- Anything to help you relax in a chatty space (loops, earplugs, fidget toys, communication cards, etc - all are welcome)

Who it’s for:
Open to everyone, whether you’re working at Fringe or not.
This is a queer feminist space that centres people of marginalised genders, organised by & for dykes (including trans dykes & bi dykes - see our FAQs for more on gender inclusivity).
We will not police entry to this space based on anyone’s perceived gender/sexuality. As hosts of this session, we will not apply gendered pronouns or honourifics (until we learn which ones you use). To ensure everyone feels welcome, we ask attendees and venue staff to do the same.
Community members are welcome to bring supportive pals, partners, and active allies (eg, please do tell ur fave programmers/producers if they a track-record of supporting queer & feminist work!)
Discriminatory language or behaviour will not be tolerated (including - but not limited to - transphobia, biphobia, homophobia, sexism, racism, xenophobia, classism, ableism, fatphobia, whorephobia, ageism, or religious discrimination). If anyone makes you feel uncomfortable, please tell the event organisers.
We may take a few photos at this event, to publicise our future events - if you'd prefer not to be in photos, or want to be anonymised in any pictures on our social media, please let us know, we respect your privacy.
