We are thrilled to announce an upcoming talk featuring local drag celebrity and community champion Miss Dee Licious, scheduled for Wednesday 24th July at 1 PM (doors open at 12:45pm). Miss Dee Licious, widely recognized for her impactful work as a drag artist across Norfolk, has made significant contributions through her charity initiatives and the popular Dee and Mindy Bingo Shows.
Behind the glamorous persona of Miss Dee Licious is Kevin, an award-winning fitness instructor who embarked on his drag journey in 2018. Since winning the inaugural Miss Charity Drag UK title in 2019, Kevin has continued to make a substantial difference in various communities across the region. His dynamic presence on social media, work in care homes, role as a UK laughter yoga ambassador, and leadership in organizing Dereham Does Pride illustrate his multifaceted contributions.
During the event at UEA, Kevin will share his inspiring journey, detailing how he overcame life challenges as a gay individual and transformed negativity into a successful career alongside his husband, forming one of the most sought-after drag duos in the South East of England. Additionally, Kevin was a nominee for the prestigious National Diversity Award as a Positive Role Model for 2024.
This event promises to be full of inspiring stories and a mission to unify communities. There will also be a Q&A session, providing attendees with the opportunity to engage directly with Kevin.
Moreover, the event will be filmed for a documentary exploring the impact of drag artists, in areas of England. We look forward to welcoming everyone to what is sure to be an enlightening and uplifting experience.
