Join Bold Mellon Collective & Croydon Community Members for a free-to-attend art showcase responding to the theme: ‘IS IT OK?’.
Five Croydon-based LGBTQIA+ individuals were selected from an open-call to participate in a weekend of explorative art-making, movement and creative well-being workshops. The workshops were hosted by interdisciplinary artists Dear Annie and Sama Hunt, as well as Bold Mellon Collective Founders and Artistic Directors Amy-Rose Edlyn and Emilia Nurmukhamet. Together, we created a collaged array of artwork responding to:
Is it ok?
to move like this,
to celebrate and incubate,
to tense up, shrink down, hold ground, play out,
to dive in, act out, be proud, and try it all again…
Is it ok?
to not remember that you are sublime
to feel a sagging dread of the unrequited
to tremble when in the company of others
to feel a longing in your chest
to change your mind all the time
to not like getting things wrong
