Let's Play classes are for anyone who identifies as trans, non-binary and or Global Majority/ BIPOC who are beginners, less experienced movers or movers who want to have a bit of fun who want to get moving their body without a certain style in an inclusive supportive space. Classes are focused on community-building, care and exploring movement through props and dance/movement. Props are any object that you can dance/move with! To initiate movement with props we would use creative dance games that are open to interpretation to help initiate movement. It is mostly improvisation and nothing is right or wrong! We will be using objects that are around your house/room like spoons, cups, your favourite toy, pillows, etc. There will be an introduction at first to let you know which props we will be using.
This is a trans/non-binary/non-cis space. Please do not buy a ticket if you identify as a cis person.
ACCESS NEEDS AND SUPPORT
Please email hello.ashleylim@proton.me if you have access needs even if they are undiagnosed. This helps Ashley create a more inclusive and supportive class! There is a designated space if anyone feels unsafe or if you would not like to participate in an activity. Take breaks whenever you need. To ensure safety online, the class will start with all video cameras on to just say hello and from then on, you can off or mute yourself throughout the class. We will be using Jitsi which is a set of open-source projects that allows you to easily build and deploy secure video conferencing solution.
SPACE:
Please ensure that you have enough space to move & groove around, if you do not you can still participate but please be aware of the objects and obstacles around you. Ashley will go through safety with dancing online before we start the class.
