Join us for a vibrant celebration of talent within the Black Queer community at our own Queer Salon des Arts, featuring Andreena with "Queer Voices: Poetry and Community" and Corrine with "Dismantling Barriers: Black Queer Presence in Dance."

Bio:
Andreena Leeanne (she/her) is a poet, speaker, and wellbeing workshop facilitator. Founder of Poetry LGBT Open Mic Night, she promotes inclusion and mental health through poetry. Recognised as a Stonewall role model, she is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts

Corrine Bougaard will explore the barriers of racism and queerphobia faced by the Black Queer community in dance, highlighting Kiraly Saint Claire's journey through the art world. She will discuss challenges and propose solutions for fostering inclusivity and equity in the industry.
Corrine's Bio:
Corrine Bougaard, founder of Union Dance, is a renowned choreographer, educator, and performer with international acclaim. She has pioneered dance projects promoting cultural diversity, equity, and inclusivity. Corrine's work includes commissions, residencies, and performances worldwide, fostering creativity through the arts and digital technology.
Kiraly's Bio:
Kiraly Saint Claire, founder and director, is a Caribbean-born artist from Saint Lucia. With a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance from Trinity Laban, he works as a photographer, performer, and creative consultant, collaborating with diverse companies across theatre, film, and media.
Programme:
- 5:15-5:35 PM: Andreena will present powerful LGBTQ+ poems from her collection, "CHARRED," and share insights from nearly a decade of organising Poetry LGBT Open Mic, followed by a 10-minute Q&A session.
- 5:35-5:45 PM: Break
- 5:45-6:15 PM: Corrine will discuss the challenges of racism and queerphobia faced by the Black Queer community in dance, showcasing Kiraly Saint Claire's journey through the art world, followed by a 10-minute Q&A session.
- 6:20-6:45 PM: Networking and socialising.

However, if you’re able, we kindly ask for contributions to help cover the costs of organising this event, which totals around £275 (including £100 for administration and promotion, £75 for drinks, refreshments, and snacks, and £50 each for the speakers’ contributions).
