“I just want to write - why do I have to be on social media??”
There's increasing pressure on writers to establish an online presence. Does this mean you have to make content? Learn what the 'The Algorithm" is? Do silly dances to sell your writing??
Join me for a deeply practical, no nonsense* online workshop on how to make social media work for YOU. This is a 90 minute workshop full of knowledge sharing, case studies, simple exercises to get you kickstarted, a Q&A and you get a “goody bag” of content ideas to take away. We'll primarily focus on the platforms Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube.
Social Media Proficiency?
All attendees need to have a basic understanding of what social media is and how to use it (i.e. how to upload, navigate at least one of the platforms above etc). If you’ve never used social media in your life this workshop won't be quite right for you, as I won't be teaching you how to use social media, but how to maximise it.
The focus is on unlocking the full potential of social media as a writer, and ways to use it without being overwhelmed.
What Kind Of Writers?
All writers across form and genres are welcome! Novelists, poets, journalists, non-fiction and more - pull up a seat.
What Previous Attendees are saying:
“Really useful hints, great energy, you know your stuff and made me laugh” - Naomi
"Thank you so much, this was a brilliant workshop! I haven't posted on Instagram for a year but
really want to get back into it and use it to benefit my work and this has given me the spark to do so, so thank you!" - Antonia
“This was such a useful session. I came away buzzing! Thank you!” - Katie Hale
About the Workshop:
- There will be a short break in the middle.
- There will be a Q&A at the end, participants are welcome to ask questions in the chat throughout.
- All are welcome to have their cameras off, there is no audience interaction where I would ask you to turn on your camera and mic. During the Q&A, you'll be invited to come off mute and video to ask your question, but this is entirely optional.
