TRANSforming AI: for Us, by Us

We are Teddi and Rayanne, MA students in UX, and we’re excited to host a workshop for the Trans, Non-Binary and Gender-Fluid community on Artificial Intelligence—no prior knowledge needed!

This event offers a chance to explore AI’s impact and collaboratively reimagine a softer, more inclusive version using physical materials. We’ll provide everything and guide you through the Creative Toolkit Design method.

Through the “free flow writing” technique we will provide a safe space to share and talk about Trans+ and Queer everyday experience and uplift each other. We are not just defined by the “big moments” that cis-normative society and systems see us as. (EX: coming out, surgery, physiological assessments… etc)
Explain how we think AI and Tech are influencing our everyday life as Trans+ and Queer people.
Show examples of AI that is being designed for and with the Trans+ community
Using the “creative toolkit” design method as a group or individually we will brainstorm and reflect on how we could reimagine AI and technology for our everyday experience as Trans+ and Queer people

There will be time to share ideas, connect with others, and enjoy refreshments in a welcoming space. Even if you’re attending to just connect with others, we’d love that!
