The Queer(ribbean) Dominoes Project is a collaboration between Brixton Immortals and bare radicals Productions that seeks to create intergenerational spaces for queer Caribbeans to master the power of Dominoes. The intention behind this project is to create intergenerational spaces for queer Caribbeans and allies of all ages to meet, play and connect in a non-judgemental accessible social space.
For our Autumn line-up, we’re inviting our community + allies for an afternoon of workshops, dominoes and community conversation. Hosted at the Paper Garden in between Canada Water and Surrey Quays stations, we’ll also get the fire going in the garden if the weather permits.
As part of this, we are inviting guests to our fundraising ‘Make your Own Domino set’ workshop. In this workshop, you’ll get to build, carve and decorate full set of wooden dominoes using wood.
To help cover the costs of this, are currently asking for a small donation for you to take your domino set home. However, we won’t turn anyone away if money is an issue and if you’re still up for building with us, you’re welcome to help us make traditional table tops and domino sets intended for future use of the project.
