Buddy Up! Queer Housemate Mixers
Saturday & Sunday, 1 pm
In order to even begin thinking about the theme of queer domesticity, first queer people need places to live! For this year's fair, we've partnered with Buddy Up!, a new service that helps connect queer people looking for housing so you can team up, combine resources and make any flat on the market into a queer home.
Buddy Up! founder Nikian Aghababaie will be hosting two queer housemate mixers during the fair weekend. RSVP in advance at the Partiful links below to be provided with best potential housemate matches during the event!
Badge Cafe Hangouts
Ongoing throughout the fair
Artist Ben Walters returns to the 2024 edition of Queeriosities with his Badge Cafe hangouts. Running throughout the entire fair, Badge Cafe offers a space to relax, create and connect by making unique badges out of old books and magazines. Pop by for a minute or bed in for an hour. You might surprise yourself!
About Queeriosities
Founded and led by curator Davy Pittoors, Queeriosities is a travelling platform that elevates LGBTQIA+ creatives expressing their identities through art, craft, and design. Ranging from pop-up dinners to full-scale art and makers fairs, our initiatives highlight those who have been historically sidelined and serve as a platform to knit our communities together and connect them with new audiences. We encourage the spread of both contemporary and historical LGBTQIA+ objects, art, and ephemera – and we aim to blur the lines between art and craft, museum and home, and archive and collection to open up new space for queer perspectives.
