Tobi Adebajo, and Kyoko Takenaka (WasteWowxn)
Tobi Adebajo (@tobiadebajo) and Kyoko Takenaka (@jinjabrew) of @Wastewomxn are anti-disciplinary performance artists whose practice incorporates writing, music, butoh + bata dance, and visual media.
As diasporic artists based in the UK and the US, they are constantly finding ways to bypass a colonial lens on their existences - connecting directly within their mother tongues, and incorporating storytelling in both Japanese and Yoruba into their work.
Petals, Trans members of My Blood Is My Voice & Nawi Collective
The evening will also include performances from petals. petals is a composer, poet, and multi-instrumentalist living on the hidden river Effra in London; she is the author of ‘Kalimba’, co-author of ‘Marsh-River-Raft-Feather’, and her new manuscript ‘& glee & bless’ (Guillemot Press).
Tobi & Kyoko are excited to also have Choral accompaniment by trans members of My Blood Is My Voice & Nawi Collective
My Blood Is My Voice is a ritual gig theatre & collective vocal healing project in co-creation; exploring the queer & neurodivergent experience through decolonized ways of working with the human body as a complete instrument and storyteller. @mybloodismyvoice
