We're a relaxed, small film group for LGBTQIA+ women over 40. We watch films about LGBTQIA+ women, or films we just really want to see!
This month we are screening The Secret Diaries of Miss Anne Lister (2010)
Written by Jane English and directed by James Kent this bold and passionate drama tells the story of Anne Lister, 1791-1840. A Yorkshire landowner, industrialist and traveller who lived openly as a lesbian and kept extensive diaries chronicling her daily life.
The museum is closed at 6pm so we have to enter through the side gate on Kingsland road next to Graeae Theatre Company. There will be a pink sign stuck to the gate so you know it's the right one.
The venue is on the ground floor and there's a couple of steps into the room but there is an accessible entrance with a ramp further down the path if needed. There is an accessible bathroom and a lovely (but quite empty) kitchen so feel free to bring along any snacks/drinks you'd like.
We will be there setting up from 6pm, everyone is welcome to come early and stay late for a chat about the film.
