Would you Adam and Eve it?! After the success of our 1940s themed ‘Cardi Arms Knees Up’ and our 1990s ‘School Assembly’ we’re bringing you a Victorian Christmas not to be missed! The Cardigan Arms is one of Leeds’ premier heritage pubs dating back to 1893.
The night will be hosted by our Maître de, played by Jude Kershaw. She doesn’t suffer fools; her pub, her rules!
Our first set will comprise Victorian variety acts from the ever-popular Musical Hall. Comics, performers and musicians alike! Proper pub environment, with Christmas tunes and Victorian chart toppers around the piano (of course, with the occasional twist)!
The second set of the night will be led by Fezziwig’s Ceilidh band. Straight from the pages of Dickens join us in a merrie jig around the room, curmudgeons encouraged!
Run of The Mill History produces engaging history events and workshops focusing on radical, working class and minority stories.
Accessibility
This event is held in the function room which is up a flight of stairs. The ground floor can be accessed step free from street level. As this event is held in a heritage building, there is no lift, but a ground floor toilet is available. Ear plugs and fidgets will be available, as will masks and sanitiser. The function room does not have a hearing aid loop. Song sheets will be available on each table and can be requested in large print. A ‘quiet table’ will be set aside for people who might not want to engage directly with the performers.
